Writing & Life Update!
It’s been a while since I posted a writing or life update, so I figured now would be a great time to fix that!
As far as my writing goes, I’m currently in the final phase of edits for An Ambassador’s Ploy, the last book in the Adventures in Eldnaire trilogy.
I’ll have a specific release date for you soon, but at the moment, all I can say is that the book will likely be releasing sometime in August (so stay tuned for more information)!
I will officially open up the launch/release team for An Ambassador’s Ploy within the next few weeks, but if you think you’d be interested in joining, feel free to leave a comment below this article, or send me an email!
I’ve currently paused edits on my royal intrigue romantic comedy and my desert fantasy novels in order to focus on An Ambassador’s Ploy, but I plan to get back to working on both stories after I’ve finished this final round of edits.
Another project I’ve been working on is this website. I plan to accept some more manuscripts for developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading, so I thought I’d take the time to revamp my website and add some information about the services I offer.
Other than that, I’ve been preparing for the launch of the Fantastical Summer Anthology (releasing June 19th), and writing a few short stories on the side.
(I’m also on the lookout for ten people to participate in the Fantastical Summer Anthology‘s release, so please let me know if that would interest you!)
Thorns & Roses
Now, onto the life side of things…
Life has been filled with roses and thorns lately, so I’ll start with the negative things, and end on a positive note.
I’ve been actively fighting against self-doubt and insecurity.
It’s been one of those months where I feel like I’m doing everything wrong—or like I’m running behind and won’t be able to catch back up.
My dad got rear-ended by a truck, and thankfully, he wasn’t injured, but insurance declared his car a total loss.
There are a few other things that have been going on within my family and life, but I’ll keep it to the two things mentioned above at the moment. (And thank you to those of you who have been praying for me and my family, I really appreciate it!)
The Roses
So, let’s move on to the positive things!
I’ve been able to spend a lot of time with my family recently. Between birthdays, baby dedications, and other events, it’s been a lot of fun!
I got the chance to travel, reconnect with old friends, and make some new ones!
I’m also currently attending the Story Embers summit, and all of the sessions I’ve attended so far have been extremely encouraging.
Despite the wild ups and downs, setbacks, and other frustrations, I’m still feeling hopeful about the future. I know that life will never be my definition of perfect. I also know that I’m not alone. God has been looking out for me since day one, so even if I struggle and have a bad day (or bad month), I know that it’s not going to last.
There is always hope.
Before You Go…
What about you? Would you say that you’re experiencing more ups, or more downs right now? Is there anything I can pray about for you?

I love you meisje met de rode klompen! You are amazing! You are strong! You are brave! You are loved! You are funny! You are smart! You are creative! You are an engaging author! You are cute! You are worthy! You are blessed!
And I am truly honored and blessed to call you my friend!!! I love you!
Awwww! Thank you, Ms. Christel! I love you too!!! 💜💜💜
I’m sad to hear about the thorns, but glad the roses are so nice! It’s kind of a mix here for me too. I had to basically end my normal routine in the fall of last year because I was so burned out, and since then I haven’t gotten totally on track. It’s resulted in chronic anxiety almost all of 2025 so far. OCD has been through the roof. Worst part is I’ve lost most of my love of and desire for writing–my passion since childhood. It’s been really, really, really rough. On the upside though, I’ve learned to stop worrying about what people think of me, I’ve invested in a lot of new fandoms, and I made three new friendships that clicked almost instantly.
Exciting to hear about book three! Praying for you!
Wow, Sarah, that definitely sounds like a lot! I’ll be praying that God gives you peace, and that your passion and desire to write is rekindled. Congratulations on the roses though, that’s amazing! And thank you so much for your prayers!
I’ve had quite a few downs recently, too. I’m ready for a win! Some health issues and financial issues mostly. But God really is good. My family is healthy for the most part, and our needs are always provided. I feel like I’m talking to myself in all the arenas where I’m trying to get my message out. And that can be pretty discouraging. I was going to say something about that in last week’s post, but I didn’t get around to it. I have made lots of products and lots of content, but I’m not good at marketing, so people don’t really know about them. But someday, the people who need them will see them, I’m sure. I trust God to get them in the right hands. Fighting discouragement but believing for great things in the future.
Amen! I’ll be praying that your health is restored and that your needs continue to be met. And that you’ll find more encouragement in your life. 💜
I’m not a writer, but a long ago friend of your family. I will keep you all in prayer. I’ll offer a view for you from a long life…I just turned 71 (how?) and this morning I am thanking God for this past season He has seen me through. For the past 8 years, we watched and prayed as my mom became more and more frail and disconnected from us due to Alzheimer’s. At last in March, God called her home at the age of 97. In hindsight, I have been carrying the weight of “When will my Mom pass?” for years, and the final breathing out of that anxiety and welcoming the unknown ahead…it’s exhilarating! I’ll be praying for the good work you do, and for all those who share on your site. I’m thankful you all hold onto God and His good promises!
Thank you for your prayers, Ms. Karen, and for sharing your story, it’s very encouraging to hear how God brings others through hard times. 💜
