Coming Soon…

You read the title of this article correctly… I’m releasing a new book!

I’ll get into all the details soon, but first I want to take a minute to talk about what I’ve been up to lately.

Realm Makers

Early Monday morning I returned home from St Louis, Missouri, where I attended the annual Realm Makers conference.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Realm Makers, it’s an amazing event where Christian speculative fiction writers and readers (sci-fi, fantasy, etc.) can go to connect, learn, and meet the authors of some of their favorite books.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I arrived at the Realm Makers conference.

I knew that there would be a lot of writers there, and I was aware that many of the speakers I listened to, and the sessions I attended would help me with my writing—but that’s about it.

So the minute I stepped into the hotel, I was completely overwhelmed…and a little freaked out.

At first I was overwhelmed because I thought I was in way over my head (there were a ton of people, they were all in groups, and I had to talk to them???), but then someone came up and invited me to hang out with her group, and that’s when I started to realize what Realm Makers was all about.

The Writing Community

Going to Realm Makers reminded me of why I write.

Writing is not—and has never been—a competition.

The fact that writers can get together and talk about their stories and get excited about other people’s stories is so amazing—and important.

As a writer, I spend a lot of my time alone…writing.

And sure, I write for myself, and I write for God, but at the end of the day, I write for people. People who love fun characters and good stories.

The community of writers who attend Realm Makers is fantastic. I felt right at home among people who shared my values and passion for storytelling.

I’m so grateful for the connections and the new friends I made over the weekend. And I’m so excited to see what God will do with them and their stories.

New Book Announcement: A Traitor’s Vow

And speaking of stories…

My newest book, A Traitor’s Vow, will be released on September 16th, 2024!

A Traitor’s Vow will be the second book in my Adventures in Eldnaire trilogy, and the continuation of Amelia’s story from The Librarian’s Ruse.

One mistake. Two empires. Countless secrets.

Amelia’s peaceful life as a librarian is cut short when she and her older brother Leon are sent on an errand to Eldnaire, the capital city of the vicious Vilnarian Empire. After witnessing a crime carried out in the woods, Amelia and Leon enter the capital only to be faced with an impossible choice: tell the truth and risk imprisonment, or lie and face far worse if they’re caught.

One deception leads to a dozen more, and before she can put an end to the lies, she and Leon are swept up into Vilnaria’s high society. Amelia finds an unlikely ally in Vilnaria’s handsome new ruler, Emperor Kyvir.

But as the secrets and scandals continue to pile up and danger closes in on all sides, Amelia must decide once and for all what matters more: the truth…or her life?

Release Team

After writing and publishing The Librarian’s Ruse, I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to see the second book in this series in print.

I’m currently working on some of the back and front matter, and I received the finished cover design from my publisher yesterday (I can’t wait to share it with all of you)!

I’ll be officially inviting people to join my launch team within the next week, but if you’re reading this right now and you’re interested in helping with the release of A Traitor’s Vow, comment below or contact me through this form—I’d love to have you on my team!
