It’s Launch Day For A Traitor’s Vow!

Today is the official release day for my newest book, A Traitor’s Vow.

It’s hard for me to believe that this is my second time launching a book out into the wild for the world to potentially read.

A lie can only last for so long…

When Amelia learns the dark truth behind the Vilnarian Empire’s schemes, she must decide once and for all which path to take. Will she escape to the safety and warmth of her homeland, or take the path leading her back into danger—back to the charming Emperor Kyvir.

In a world of spies, false identities, and kingdoms at war, Amelia can no longer trust anyone…not even herself.

Will Amelia succeed in toppling a corrupt empire bent on conquest, or will she lose everything that she’s ever loved?

The Purpose of A Traitor’s Vow

I was one of those kids who, growing up, would have to show my mother each book I picked out at the library so she could make sure that there was nothing weird, or inappropriate in it.

I usually didn’t mind, but eventually it felt like I was running out of books that were “clean” enough that my mom would approve of me reading them, and yet actually interesting to read.

Like I mentioned in another article a while back, A Traitor’s Vow and the rest of the Adventures In Eldnaire trilogy are books that I wish that I had when I was a younger teen.

Books that were exciting and fun to read, while still being “clean” and mother-approved.

But in my quest to make a book that would be enjoyable for girls between 12-16, I found that others—children, men, and women between the ages of 11-70 all really liked the first book in my series, The Librarian’s Ruse.

Whether it was the characters, the plot, or the themes, a lot of people resonated with the story. And many of them were way outside of my target audience.

Spread The Word!

While writing A Traitor’s Vow, I was tempted to try to appeal to a larger audience, but ultimately, decided against it.

If men and women of all ages enjoy my book, then great! That’s awesome!

But I definitely want to keep writing the Adventures In Eldnaire series for all the teen girls who, like me, wanted to read stories that had clean language and romance, but weren’t mind-numbingly boring.

So if you know any teens, or anyone with teens, please let them know about A Traitor’s Vow, and the rest of the series!
